Claudia was born in Quebec, and left for Guatemala with an NGO to work with Maya women. With no formal training in the visual arts, but fascinated by the local culture and nature, she started day after day trying to capture the essence of the Maya women. Her paintings represent the melancholic souls and inner strength that motivate them. The atmosphere that prevailed in Guatemala set the tone for hundreds of paintings. She paints full time now and dedicates her time to children’s books illustrations, with always the same intention – love.
